Daddy-Daughter Date

Between "I CANNOT wait until my Daddy-Daughter date, Mommy, " and "I am going to miss Nathan so much," all day her evening was much anticipated.

I have to admit, the day was so fun though and I found myself laughing hystarically. We spent the day trimming her hair, painting her nails, picking out what she would wear (she suggested the necklaces and ring with a heart because "it was for her Daddy-Daughter date".) And she also helped Nathan decide what he and Mommy would do while she was gone. Hilarity!

Her Mama's Girl: A Conversation with Grandma

Abigail: [Walking through the store, Abigail picks up an orange hat and hands it to Grandma.] "Here Grandma."

Grandma: Do you like this hat?

Abigail: Yes.

Grandma: Do you want me to get it for you?

Abigail: Yes.

Grandma: Should we ask Mom first?

Abigail: No, just put it in the basket.

We have so enjoyed our time at the Marshman home every other Friday for some good, good play-time. I say good twice but it probably should cover this entire blog page. These play-dates are so good for so many reasons...we release some stored up energy from the cold not-quite-spring-yet days inside, get continued practice in "loving one another"and "put the other before yourself", learn that Mom seriously means it even in public, refreshing coffee, good food, encouraging and edifying Mom chats, and today we incorporated art into our play-time.

The goodness is overflowing!

A Big Sister's Prayer

Tonight, during our family devotional time, Abigail added this sweet little request in her prayers for her brother:

"...Dear God, please help Nathan just ask Mommy when he needs to go potty at night and not cry..."

Park Days, here we are...

Tory took Abigail and Nathan to the park tonight and came home with this video of Abigail and her new feat. I really don't think I was able to do this at age 4, but either way her new skills continue to wow us. (Also note Nate in the background...love that little guy!)
