Ephesians 1

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God. To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace to you and peace from God or Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory, In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

11 months

IMG_2015
Our baby girl turned 11 months old today. It has been a huge month for us with her. She is developing and growing with us so much. Its like she has been here all along. I wish I could get in her mind sometimes to see what she is thinking. Tory thinks she doesn't even remember ET anymore and that we are all she knows. I like that.

She has made huge strides this month...
  • she can stand up from the floor on her own
  • she is finally laughing! And even on her own at times. Though she still refuses to be ticklish.
  • she loves to clap. Especially when she knows she's in trouble and she is trying to win our favor by her cuteness. ha!
  • she loves to sing. Her favorites right now are "If You're Happy and You Know It", "Pat-a-cake", "Clap Your Hands All Ye People"
  • oh, and forget saving her "first sweets" until her 1st birthday. Too late, she's done it and loves it.
  • she is beginning a great English vocabulary, "mama, mama, mama", "da-da-da-da", "aba-aba-aba-aba" and says "Hannah" ever so clearly
  • she has two teeth now
  • and she can sign "more"

Bobby

This is Bobby. Bobby is a she. And she is the "church cat". There is a great story behind Bobby that I am sure I can not do justice. Something like a store manager used him to get rid of some very, very large rats that other cats could not take care of. Bobby took care of it and some how, still not sure why, she can always be found on the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue in Wellington, TX fed by the church custodian and of course the animal lover in our home when she goes to visit her daddy at work.

We've Moved!

20110621-IMG_1029
After a crazy ordeal with the moving company, changing moving companies, and the car breaking down twice on the way...We are in Wellington, Texas! It has been a mad rush since we got here with VBS full force, unpacking, meeting so many wonderful people, and the 4th in Canyon with our families. I think we will stop to breath soon...Though the rush is kinda fascinating. Ha! It is great to be here and the people at FBC, Wellinton have been so kind to us. We have a stocked pantry, a lovely home, and I think tonight was my first time to cook since we arrived. Looking forward to seeing God make much of himself in our time here. For His Glory and our good.

Hannah's hair

Hannah's first pigtails - June 2011
One thing I love so much yet is one of the most intimidating things about this girl is her hair. She has the most wonderful soft, curly dark hair I have every laid hands on. Tory and I discussed even before she got home, that we wanted to make sure we do her hair RIGHT! I want to keep it well, be able to teach her how to care for it (which means asking someone else), and totally let her rock it! So for all the wondering minds, we use these products. We use the shampoo every couple of weeks, condition twice a week, moisturize day and night, and gel-les'c every morning and sometimes after nap if we are going out. It is our first try at the products and I am sure I will test out more as she gets older. It's pricey but we are loving it for now and are pleased with its sweet smelling gentle touch on our all natural Ethiopian princess.
