Ethiopia Day 1: Meeting Hannah

January 16, 2011, approximately 3 p.m. in Ethiopia, Hannah is 5 months old this day.
The Transition Home: Owned by our adoption agency and where Hannah has been since she was about 6 weeks old.

Nanny Hiwot (pronouced Hewitt) brought Hannah 7 hours in a car from an orphanage in Wolayta to the Transition house in Addis and is the one who cares for her at the transition home now. Our hearts are comforted that Hannah is in her care while she can't yet be home.

Learning and asking questions about Hannah. Nanny Hiwot has wonderful English!

Hannah's bed. Note the boy in the bassinet next to Hannah's. I commented on how small he was, then Nanny Hiwot says,"No, your baby was small." Hannah has made remarkable improvement from her malnutrition when she first arrived to the transition home.

We asked Nanny Hiwot about her reading choices. She is a believer!

Another sweet nanny who cares for these sweet babies.
Our ride to the guest house...carseats are not required in Ethiopia.
So glad to have her safe and sound and near to us for 3 days.
Ethiopia 2011 to be continued..

The black and white of you kissing her cheek.... Oh my. I was holding in the tears pretty well until that moment and then I lost it. Wonderful job documenting this all. It makes me long for our girl even more. Love you guys and are so encouraged by your faith!

She's so beautiful and looks completely at peace with you both.
Do the babies stay in the nanny's room? What a precious lady to care for the babies the way she does.
I'm so happy for you both and will continue to pray for a speedy reunion.

Okay, totally weeping like a mad-woman over here. She is PRECIOUS PRECIOUS PRECIOUS...and so is your sweet smile in all of these pictures.

We'll be praying for your new court date! Hopefully it won't be too much of a setback.
